POLITEHNICA Bucharest Hosts the Sixth Meeting of the CESAER Task Force Benchmark

This week, POLITEHNICA Bucharest hosted the sixth meeting of the CESAER Task Force Benchmark, bringing to our campus distinguished representatives from leading European universities of science and technology. The event reaffirmed POLITEHNICA’s strategic commitment to fostering collaboration, knowledge exchange, and excellence in higher education and research at European level.

CESAER - the Conference of European Schools for Advanced Engineering Education and Research - unites more than 50 top universities from 25 countries. As a member of this prestigious association, POLITEHNICA Bucharest actively contributes to shaping the future of engineering and technological education, research leadership, and innovation competitiveness across Europe and beyond.


Advancing Strategic Excellence in European Universities

The Bucharest meeting served as a platform for in-depth dialogue, forward-looking strategies, and shared reflections on how universities can enhance performance and institutional resilience in a rapidly evolving global landscape.

Key topics included:

🔹 Performance Assessment in Alliances & S&T Universities
With contributions from experts representing the European Commission and major international associations, participants explored evolving methodologies for evaluating institutional performance — particularly in the context of European university alliances.

🔹 University Intelligence & Talent Insights
A dedicated session highlighted new tools and frameworks for strategic intelligence, data-driven leadership, and talent development — all essential for universities striving to remain competitive and innovative.

🔹 Strategic Priorities for 2026–2027
Members worked collaboratively to define priorities for the upcoming cycle of the Task Force, focusing on future-proofing universities and reinforcing excellence in research, education, and societal engagement.

🔹 Campus Visits & Networking Programme
Participants also visited key university research institutes, discovering POLITEHNICA’s innovation ecosystems, laboratories, and partnerships, complemented by a curated social programme that fostered meaningful professional and academic connections.

POLITEHNICA was represented by Vice-Rector Horia Iovu from the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology, who plays an active role in advancing our university’s strategic position within the CESAER community.
