6th edition of the FutureShapers Camp Summer School

POLITEHNICA Bucharest hosted the 6th edition of the FutureShapers Camp, an immersive international event dedicated to innovation, creativity, and cross-cultural collaboration. Organized in partnership with Honeywell and Groupe INSA, the 2025 edition brought together talented students from POLITEHNICA Bucharest, Groupe INSA, and EELISA partner universities - including Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME), Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU), and Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW).

For one dynamic week, the campus of POLITEHNICA became a living laboratory of ideas, where engineering met entrepreneurship, and teamwork met technology. The participants - future engineers and innovators - worked side by side, tackling real-world challenges in a multidisciplinary and international environment.

A Hands-On Week of Innovation

At the heart of FutureShapers Camp lies a simple yet powerful vision: to empower students to turn ideas into impact through hands-on collaboration and creative problem-solving.

Throughout the week, students engaged in a Hackathon guided by Honeywell experts, where they were challenged to design innovative solutions to industrial and societal issues. Working in multicultural teams, participants combined engineering knowledge with creative thinking, demonstrating how collaboration across disciplines and borders can spark meaningful innovation.

The hackathon sessions were complemented by interactive workshops, team-building activities, and brainstorming challenges that encouraged students to test their technical and leadership skills while learning from one another.

“FutureShapers is not just about technology - it’s about people working together to make technology meaningful,” said one of the mentors from Honeywell. “The students’ enthusiasm and curiosity remind us that the future of engineering is bright and diverse.”

In addition to the hackathon and teamwork challenges, participants had the opportunity to visit POLITEHNICA’s cutting-edge research laboratories, where they discovered ongoing projects in robotics, automation, energy, and digital systems.

Guided by university researchers and mentors, students gained insight into how research and innovation are integrated into the educational ecosystem of POLITEHNICA. These visits provided valuable inspiration, connecting classroom knowledge to industrial applications and emerging technologies.
